بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـانِ الرَّحِيمِ
السَّلآمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ الله وبَرَكآتُه to all my blog readers and subscribers. Hope you are all doing well.
I am sorry that I have been unable to update this blog as often as I would like (monthly).
However, the blogging hiatus has not been because of some
writer’s blogger’s block or anything bad, alhamdulillah. I have just been focusing my writing/editing energies elsewhere, and all praises to Allah, my self-publishing projects do require more of my exclusive time and meticulous editing effort, than blogging.
Anyhow, I am happy to report that I have some great news to share today!
International Islamic Publishing House has published my second book! It is a compilation of my reflections upon the Qur’an.
Here is a shot of the book cover:
I am immensely grateful to Allah for allowing me to write this book! It is a heavy work, replete with my thoughts, analyses, and reflections upon the Qur’an: approximately 400 pages.
I am so grateful that this book was published by a credible Islamic publishing company, such as IIPH. Their team of editors, proofreaders, fact-checkers, content editors, reviewers, cover designers, and other helpers, have put in hours of toil to bring forth this final product, now available for the world to read. I ask Allah to reward them all greatly, in both worlds.
They have done me a huge favor by polishing my writing and meticulously checking everything that I wrote. As a self-publisher who has been struggling and striving to publish all her content as books, since the past 3 years, I can now empathetically testify just how hard it is to get a book finally into print, completely error-free.
The good news for international readers and bibliophiles is that this, my second traditionally published book, “Into the Qur’an: Let it Enrich Your Soul and Your Life” is available for immediate purchase on the IIPH website.
Yes, that means that you can click/tap here to buy it from the IIPH website, and have it shipped to you right now! It is currently listed in their “New Arrivals” section.
They deliver/ship the book to the following countries, according to these timelines:
Africa: 15-40 days
Asia & Australasia: 15-31 days
Europe & UK: 15-31 days
Middle-East: 7-21 days
USA: 4-9 weeks
Canada: 20-31 days
Central & South America: 4-9 weeks
For those of my local (Pakistan-based) readers who might not already know this, as of now, all Meezan Bank visa debit cards and mastercards can be used easily to make online payments. Perhaps the debit cards of the Islamic branches of other banks can also be used for such payments (call your bank to ask).
This means that you, as a Pakistani with a local Islamic bank’s visa or master debit card, can also purchase this book online, using this debit card, and have my new book couriered to you.
Update: This book is now available for all Pakistan-based readers, followers, and Islamic bibliophiles, at Dawah Books. Click/tap here to buy it online, and to also view some of its pages. Dawah Books ships worldwide. You can also just walk into their store to buy the book. Their store is located in Khadda Market, DHA phase 5, Karachi (you can use the Google Maps app to locate them).
In addition, I am happy to report that the online Islamic store, Tadabbur Books, which is also based in Karachi, now has this book in stock well. It is available for immediate purchase for all those who are based in Pakistan (& UAE). They will deliver the book to you, and you can pay them with the easier option of full cash upon delivery. You can Whatsapp them on this number: +92-333-3957-498
Click here to purchase “Into the Qur’an: Let it Enrich Your Soul and Your Life” online from Tadabbur Books, and have it delivered to your doorstep. You can also view a few of its pages.
I would suggest that you please take the leap and start to get the hang of making online payments. The world is fast moving towards a single, unified economy and currency. It is high time we all made ourselves familiar with online ordering and delivery of products (from both local and international retailers). Online commerce and retailing is the new name of the game.
I also know for a fact that Amazon.com does ship books to Pakistan. The books are delivered within 3 weeks.
Here is a look at the back cover of my new book:
And here is a shot of the table of contents, highlighting the title and subtitles of one of my favorite chapters in the book:
This book has my reflections on Surah’s Al-Kahf and Yusuf, among other topics (such as my right to personal privacy).
I hope & pray that Allah accepts this work from me, and makes it an ongoing charity in my favor, allowing it to add to my record-book of deeds even long, long after I am gone and my body has turned to dust. Ameen.
Another new book: “My Hijab, My Identity”
While I am at it, I might as well announce the arrival of my other, recently self-published book too, which is titled “My Hijab, My Identity“.
I self-published this book earlier this year, in February 2018. It is available for purchase on Amazon.com.
Click/tap here to buy it on Kindle.
Alternatively, you may click/tap here, to buy it (as a paperback book) on Amazon.com:
The reason I had not announced it yet, was that I had wanted to view a physical proof of it first, since it is a concise, full-color picture book.
Yes, that’s right, it is a coffee-table book of sorts, with full-color pictures inside. Its content endorses and defends a Muslim woman’s right to wear the hijab, jilbab, and (optionally) the niqab, anywhere she may be in the world.
It is a perfect book to buy, for those dignified ladies who wear modest attire (or wish to). And it is also a good book to consider to give as a gift to someone who challenges a Muslim girl or woman for choosing to cover herself more modestly.
Now that #modestfashion is one of the fast-growing fashion industries around the world, I thought that one such book should be out there, in my collection, putting my opinion about modest attire out there for the world to read.
My style. 😉
To conclude: a big “Thank You!” to my haters
At this point in my life, as I approach age 40, I am actually thankful to all those people (especially those in my extended family) who directed their nasty taunts, disdain, teasing, and sarcastic jibes at me when I started to study the Qur’an and wear modest clothing, back at age 21.
Not that all these critical people would ever read my Islamic books, but at least these naysayers inspired me (in part) to write them!
Today, I say to them, “Thank you”.
And I am thankful foremost to Allah, for putting them in my life, back in my years of youth, because their presence, verbal statements, and actions eventually made me stronger, steadfast, and more patient. Their hate & criticism made me want to not just act upon Islam myself, but also to propagate it to the rest of the world!
May Allah accept all our deeds & efforts in His path, and grant them fruition, growth & eternal rewards. Ameen.
